| There
is so much information on the Internet it is mind baffling!
How can you separate good information from bad? Who are reliable
mail-order and Internet-order equipment suppliers?Where can
I start to find reliable birding information? The answers
to these questions only come about from visiting hundreds
to thousands of web sites and evaluating each on the merits
of the information or services offered. I have done just that
and I have winnowed the results to a final few web sites and
suppliers I trust. Also, I am providing links to photographers
whose images I feel are top-rated and worthy of study and,
maybe, even purchasing. Please, peruse the links I am providing
and see if you don't agree with my assessments. This list
will be ever-expanding as I discover new sites and new photographers.
Be sure to check back often.

I have
visited most of the popular Internet photography forums
at one time or another and have found the following nature
photography forums to offer the most valuable and accurate
information for nature photographers. Too many of the other
popular Internet photography forums are attended by what
I call "Instant Internet Experts", members whose
only experience comes from what they have read on the Internet.
Unfortunately, large amounts of incorrect information are
served up by the popular forums. If you desire acurate information
regarding nature photography, membership in any of the following
forums will put you in touch with photographers who practice
nature photography on an almost daily basis and can provide
suggestions and information that can be trusted 100%.

I
buy nearly 100% of my photographic equipment online. I have
come to trust the following suppliers for honesty and high
integrity, quality, fast shipping, and superb customer service
before and after the sale. These are the only online photo
equipment and accessories dealers I recommend. There are
just too many scam equipment dealers on the Internet advertising
impossibly low prices to lure unsuspecting customers to
their business and then practicing "bait and switch"
tactics to rob the customers of their money. That will never
happen with these dealers. You can buy with confidence from
these dealers and know that you will be getting the best
value for the money you spend whether it is just a $5.00
filter or a $5,500.00 lens.

In reality,
there is only one, online auction house worth mentioning...eBay.
I have a love/hate relationship with eBay. I love to sell
excess or unneeded equipment on eBay but I hate to take
a chance on buying any large-ticket items there. Ebay reaches
so many potentrial buyers it is almost guaranteed that you
will sell your items for the highest possible prices. However,
so many times large-ticket items up for bid are scams and
I fear losing a significant amount of money making a large-ticket
purchase through eBay.
I will
say this, if you are uncertain that a an item up for bid
seems too good to be true, it is probably a scam. My eBay
user name is "photopro2000". You can bid on my
items with confidence that my items up for bid are described
accurately and function as advertised. I have yet to have
any negative feedback as a seller.

CafePress
is a unique online gift item manufacturer. CafePress
can manufacture a variety of standard gift items using
images that "shop owners" submit for applying
to the likes of T-shirts, coffee mugs, mousepads, etc.
Shop owners can run online gifts shops composed of dozens
to hundreds of different designs on vaious gift items
and not have to worry about having to personally stock
an inventory. As orders for items are placed by customers
through a shop owner's store, CafePress manufactures
each gift item at the time of the order, bills the customer,
and even handles the shipping and possible returns for
the shop owner. The results are an almost unlimited
number of unique gift items that cannot be matched by
any local retailer. I run my own Gift
Store through CafePress and I have always been
satisfied and impressed with the products produced by
CafePress. Many syndicated cartoonists market gift items
through CafePress, too. If you cannot find a gift item
that pleases you in my Gift
Store, click on the banner at left and you will
be able to search for millions of designs and products
through CafePress' open marketplace. CafePress provides
an efficient search engine and simple categories so
that you can find just the right gift item you are looking
for. |
